LYNNWOOD – Two teenage girls were seriously injured in a rollover crash on I-5 northbound near I-405 just after 4 p.m.

Traffic was backed up to Seattle.

The Chevy Blazer that crashed may have been involved in a hit-and-run accident in Lynnwood minutes before it wrecked on I-5, said State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen.

Four teenagers and a 20-year-old man were in the SUV when it flipped and rolled several times. No other cars were involved.

A 17-year-old Everett girl and a 19-year-old girl, address unknown, were rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries, Rudeen said.

The driver, a 17-year-old Everett boy, and two Everett men, 20 and 18, received non-life threatening injuries, Rudeen said.

The two left lanes of I-5 are expected to be closed for much of the evening commute.

Rush-hour traffic was choked up to Seattle, said Broch Bender, a state Department of Transportation spokesman.

Drivers should expect long delays, he said.
