50 years ago (1958)
Nancy Wilson and Pat Dietman were turning a wood-and-wire background into a cross of gold. They were applying daffodils supplied by the Allied Florists to fashion a huge cross to be used this Easter Sunday at sunrise services at the Everett Motor Movie.
Featured in the real dolls section today were David Steven Graves, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Graves; Nicky Fadich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fadich; Steven Wayne Sivo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sivo; Richard Dale Marion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Marion; Trudi Ann Tollefson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Tollefson; and Teresa Ann Pilon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Pilon.
25 years ago (1983)
Gary L. Smith was named executive director of United Way of Snohomish County. He succeeded Ralph White Jr., who was retiring after 16 years with the organization. Smith, who formerly lived in Edmonds and Seattle, was campaign director for the organization in Dallas, Texas.
Claudette Brearley of Everett was promoted to manager of First Interstate Bank of Washington’s Aurora branch. Berearly had joined the bank when it merged with Fidelity Mutual Savings Bank last year and had been manager in Lake City.
