Eason Invitational won’t be rescheduled

There will be no Eason Invitational track and field meet this year, meet director Tuck Gionet said Tuesday.

Gionet had hoped to move the 20th annual Eason Invite, one of the state’s top high school competitions, to May 3 after snow forced its cancellation Saturday at Snohomish High School. But scheduling conflicts prevented most of the teams from participating in a revamped meet, he said.

Gionet said he hopes next year’s Eason Invite, scheduled for April 18, 2009, “will be bigger and better than ever.”
