LYNNWOOD – An electrical problem apparently sparked a fire that caused around $100,000 damage to an apartment north of Lynnwood this morning, officials said.
Neighbors called 911 around 5:30 a.m. to report smoke in the 2700 block of Lincoln Way, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
A ground-floor apartment in a three-story building was full of smoke when firefighters arrived, she said.
Firefighters from fire districts 1 and 7, Lynnwood and Edmonds quickly brought the fire under control. There were no injuries.
The tenant was away at the time of the fire. His apartment was heavily damaged and is uninhabitable. Officials don’t know if he has renter’s insurance.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office investigated and determined an electrical problem started the blaze.
