Eat well and help victims of crime

A benefit to assist Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims is 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Claim Jumper restaurant, 18725 33rd Ave. W., Lynnwood. The agency aids crime victims and their families, and includes support groups and a 24-hour crisis hotline. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of a patron’s bill to the nonprofit organization. Help the Utsalady Ladies spruce up

Join a work party at the Utsalady Ladies’ Aid Hall, at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 78 Utsalady Drive on Camano Island to get ready for a centennial celebration June 1.

Group discusses U.S. 2 projects

The U.S. 2 Safety Coalition is set to meet at 7 tonight at the Monroe Public Library, 1070 Village Way, to announce how to use $10 million in state money for U.S. 2 improvements based on public input from two open meetings.

Overall improvements for U.S. 2 would require about $2 billion, according to state transportation experts.

Call for vendors for Arlington fair

Food vendors, crafters, artists, growers and vendors of unique and hand-made items, and community groups are wanted for the Arlington Street Fair, set for July 11-13 along Olympic Avenue in Arlington. For information call Julie Tate at 360-435-9863.
