Mountlake Terrace
Six-home development approved by council
Plans to build six homes in a development with half an acre of open space and trees were approved Monday by the Mountlake Terrace City Council.
The housing development, known as West Side Ridge, is planned at 6712 228th Street SW. The council approved the project plans following a public hearing.
The project was originally proposed to include eight homes, but the number was reduced to six homes before the plan was reviewed by the Mountlake Terrace Planning Commission and City Council.

Mukilteo
Community center to be built south of Rosehill
A new community center will be built just to the south of Rosehill Community Center, and then Rosehill will be torn down, the Mukilteo City Council decided this week.
Although the council voted earlier this year to tear down the aging Rosehill Community Center and replace it with a new community center, some council members disagreed over exactly where the new building should sit on the property.
If the new building were built in a different place, some believed there could be room to leave Rosehill standing.
Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine said he’s glad the council clarified its stance to build a new community center and tear down Rosehill.
“As far as I see, that issue is behind us,” he said.
