Mukilteo

U.S. Lighthouse Society director to speak

Jeff Gales, executive director of the U.S. Lighthouse Society, is the featured speaker for the Mukilteo Historical Society meeting Thursday.

The meeting is 7 p.m. at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.

The U.S. Lighthouse Society recently moved its headquarters from California to offices at the Point No Point Lighthouse north of Kingston on the Kitsap Peninsula.

The U.S. Coast Guard recently sent a letter to Mukilteo asking that the antique Fresnel lens in the lighthouse tower be replaced with a more modern light fixture. The historical society opposes the move.

A short business meeting is scheduled before the talk. Refreshments will be served.
