Railroad buffs to meet

Snohomish Railfans meet at 7 tonight at the Hilton Lake Fire Station, 3525 108th St. SE. It’s the first meeting of the season. The group meets the third Wednesday of the month. Railroad buffs are invited to meet with other rail fans and watch slides or videos of trains.

Hear Jetty Island’s story

Thomas Murphy, chairman of the anthropology department at Edmonds Community College and a researcher of the human history of Everett’s Jetty Island, is scheduled to give a slide show and lecture on the man-made island at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
