Gal-apalooza on Saturday

Published 3:15 pm Friday, October 17, 2008

Hey girlfriend: It’s Ya-Ya Sisterhood time.

Time to leave the kids, husband, significant other at home for some distraction and funky action with your BFF.

It’s the 11th annual Gal-aPalooza happening this Saturday in downtown Everett. This flirty, festive fall event was once known as Girls Night Out but only the name has changed. Gal-aPalooza remains a fabulous girl party.

Sponsored by the Arts Council of Snohomish County, Gal-aPalooza starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. at arts council headquarters in the Historic Monte Cristo Hotel, 1507 Wall St., Everett. There, the fun begins as local designers and vendors present their latest offerings of apparel, jewelry and accessories, along with vintage clothing. That’s just part of it. You can also: learn to belly dance with the Sabine and Essence Dance Company; win an artist-made cake in the “Go for Gold Cake Skate”; relax with a massage; find a new hairstyle or shape your hips with hula hoops.
