We’re a month into the season now, so I think that’s an adequate sample size to reflect on the state of the team. So far the Tips are 6-4-1-0, which I suspect is better than most expected.
So what I want to know is, what do you believe has been the biggest surprise so far this season?
I’ll get things started. For me the biggest surprise has been Byron Froese. Of all of Everett’s 1991-born forwards on the roster, he probably came to camp with the least amount of buzz. As much as general manager Doug Soetaert assured me Froese was going to be an impact player, I figured he’d be a member of the healthy-scratch rotation. But here he is having played every game, scored eight points, and he’s probably gotten more ice time than any of the other 91s because he’s seeing time on both the power play and penalty kill.
So what’s surprised you?
