Gas leak forces evacuation of Lynnwood retirement complex

LYNNWOOD – A retirement complex in Lynnwood was evacuated this morning as official investigated a gas leak.

Lynnwood firefighters took about 20 people to the Lynnwood library as Puget Sound Energy teams tried to figure out what caused the leak, Lynnwood fire spokeswoman Marybeth O’Leary said.

The leak was reported just before 9 a.m. in the 19400 block of 48th Avenue W, she said.

Fire officials expect to return the residents to their apartments by this afternoon.
