Food drive: Economic times are tough. And that means people are running low on food, including the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank.
You can help your fellow person, however, on your way to work by donating nonperishable food items at the Comcast Community Ice Rink’s Curbside Food Drive from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday.
You won’t even have to get out of your car. Just pull into the drop-off area of the ice rink on Broadway between Hewitt and Wall streets and staff will assist you.
You’ll receive one free pass to go skating at the rink and, if you so choose, a cup of free java from Whidbey Coffee.
Though donations will be accepted on both sides of Broadway, free coffee will be available only to southbound drivers who pull up directly in front of the ice rink.
Donations will also be accepted through the end of the December at the ice rink, where donors will receive $2 discount vouchers on skating in exchange for donations.
See www.comcastarenaeverett.com for details.
