Dreamliner orders top 900; Boeing announces new delay

Boeing’s first 787 Dreamliner won’t be delivered until first quarter of 2010, nearly two years after its original delivery date.

The company has pushed back the 787’s first flight to the second quarter of 2009. Boeing pointed to the 57-Machinists’ strike and faulty fasteners for the most recent delay.

Boeing also revealed on Thursday that it had won an order for 15 more 787s from an unidentified customer. That means the Dreamliner has won more than 900 orders since its launch.
