There’s a lot of news out of Wichita this morning.

Boeing will resume talks with SPEEA on a contract for about 700 engineers there, according to this story.

But the company is continuing with the lay offs in Wichita as previously announced, reports the The Wichita Eagle. Boeing said it plans to cut about 800 positions – both hourly and salaried – at its defense operations there.

Also in Wichita, Spirit AeroSystems said its employees will return to full workweeks in early January. The company had implemented a three-day workweek when Boeing Machinists went on strike in September. Spirit had planned to return to five-day weeks in late January, reports The Wichita Eagle.
