EDMONDS — Firefighters early Friday attacked a blaze that ruined a family’s home.
Crews arrived at a three-level home in the 8100 block of 224th Street SW about 2:30 a.m. Friday, Edmonds Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Allison said.
Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the garage, reaching into the attic and the second floor of the house. At least 30 firefighters battled the blaze.
No one was hurt.
The home was a total loss, with damage estimated at $400,000, Allison said.
Volunteers from the Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross assisted the two adults and one child who were living at the house, Red Cross spokesman Kris Krischano said.
The family has insurance.
Investigators determined the fire started in the garage. A broken gas pipe then fed the flames.
