Meet the weather man: University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass, author of “The Weather of the Pacific Northwest,” will talk about the weather, like most of us, but with authority, at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Third Place Books.

Perhaps he can enlighten us about the, uh, unusual December we had.

Third Place Books is in the Lake Forest Park Town Center, 17171 Bothell Way NE. Call

206-366-3333 or check online at www.thirdplacebooks for more author events.

Shh, be quiet: Put on your PJs and head to the Mukilteo Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, but only of you’re between the ages of 5 and 11. The library pajama party promises an evening a stories, songs, crafts, snacks and a pajama fashion show. Bring a sleeping bag and a flashlight, but call first to tell them you’re coming, 425-493-8202.

The Mukilteo Library is at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd., just off the Mukilteo Speedway.

Early warning: The Salvage Studio trio, Amy Duncan, Beth Evans-Ramos and Lisa Hilderbrand, will show you how to make neat stuff from recycled junk at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Everett Public Library. The clever artists from Edmonds will have their book, “The Salvage Studio: Sustainable Home Comforts to Organize, Entertain and Inspire,” for sale and will sign copies. The book lists at $21.95.

The main library is at 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Call 425-257-8000 or go online to www.epls.org for library events and information.
