No romance allowed at anti-Valentine’s party for teens

The Mukilteo Library will host an Anti-Valentine’s Day party this Friday for teens, coinciding with a half-day of school.

“It was perfect, because it’s actually Friday the 13th,” said Kathleen Fernandes, teen services librarian. “Kind of coincidental, but perfect.”

The library’s teen advisory board chose the celebration’s unromantic activities. For instance, teens can play “Guitar Hero” to a song such as “Love Stinks,” and then eat heart cookies that have been broken in half.

The free party is 1 to 3 p.m. Friday. The library, at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd., expects a crowd of about 50 teens. Call 425-493-8202 for details.
