GRANITE FALLS — A man driving a lawn mower on the street was fatally injured Sunday afternoon after colliding with another vehicle.

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were called to 75th Street NE just north of Highway 92 about noon, when they received reports that a small vehicle had struck a riding lawn mower, sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Rochon said.

Medics airlifted the driver of the lawn mower to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died a few hours later, Rochon said.

The other driver had no visible signs of injuries.

Investigators found no indications that speed, drugs or alcohol were involved, Rochon said.

The sheriff’s collision investigation unit is looking into the incident.
