Arlington: Music at arts council’s benefit
Rhonda Vincent and her bluegrass band, the Rage, are set to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd.
The concert raises money for the Arlington Arts Council’s efforts to buy public art for the city of Arlington.
Vincent, a nationally known musician, has performed with Keith Urban and Dolly Parton.

Volunteers sought for board vacancies
The city of Arlington needs two volunteers to fill vacant spots on the library board and the Parks, Arts and Recreation commission.
Library board members serve five-year terms and should be active library users living within the Arlington School District boundaries.
Parks commission members serve four-year terms and must live within the city’s urban growth area.

Darrington: Lunch aids committee’s work
Darrington’s memorial dinner committee plans to raise money to continue to host meals following funerals in town.
The committee’s Fun Day lunch is set for noon Saturday at the community center adjacent to Darrington High School.
The buffet meal and entertainment is free, but those who participate are encouraged to bid on homemade auction items and door prizes.
“Last year the world’s best blackberry pie went for $125,” Mayor Joyce Jones said. “It’s a great fundraiser.”
Marysville: Shoultes Elementary hosts play
Students at Shoultes Elementary School are performing “Beauty and the Beast” at 2 and 7 p.m. today at the school, 13525 51st Ave. NE. The play is free. Librarian Nancy Hammer is director. Everyone is welcome.
Submit nominations for chamber awards
The Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations for its annual business and community leadership awards.
The chamber wants nominations for business of the year, elected officials of the year, business leader of the year, volunteer of the year and the Howard-Millikan Chairman’s award.
Deadline for submissions is March 31. Awards are scheduled to be presented July 31.

Stanwood: Sen. Haugen sets town hall meeting
State Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island, plans to meet with constituents at a meeting set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Stanwood Middle School Cafeteria, 9405 271st St. NW. Haugen plans to talk about bills moving through the Legislature, as well as answer questions and take comments.
Help sponsor the life drawing marathon
You won’t be able to see the nude models, but you can donate to the cause. The free Unclad Art Show continues this week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW.
An auction and wine-tasting event to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is set for 6 to 9 p.m. after the art show. Tickets, $15, are available at the door. Auction items include selections from the Life Drawing Marathon today and Saturday at Gallery by the Bay.
