Folksters Reilly & Maloney play Whidbey Playhouse

Published 7:58 pm Thursday, March 26, 2009

The folk-singing duo of Ginny Reilly and David Maloney are back together and bringing their timeless tunes to The Whidbey Playhouse in Oak Harbor.

Expect old favorites and new pieces from these two accomplished musicians, who, in addition to recording a live reunion album in 2003, have recently completed reissuing their entire catalog on CD.

Reilly &Maloney packed houses across the country, sharing stages with the likes of Judy Collins, Tom Paxton and Greg Brown.

Maloney issues a fine baritone that interlaces with Reilly’s pure soprano to produce a powerful and pleasurable experience.

After a 10-year hiatus from 1991 to 2001, the pair returned to performing. Now communities are either discovering or remembering this pair’s uplifting and heartwarming music.

The concert starts at 7:30 tonight at The Whidbey Playhouse, 730 SE Midway Blvd., Oak Harbor. Tickets are $16 and available in reserved seating by calling the playhouse box office at 360-679-2237 or going to www.whidbeyplayhouse.com.
