50 YEARS AGO (1959)

Dr. E. Diamond and Dr. L.E. Wallace, both of Everett, were among more than 200 company representatives attending sessions of the 11th annual conference for veterinarians at Washington State College. Attendees witnessed closed circuit telecasts of surgical operations conducted in the studios of KWSC-TV on campus.

Signs calling attention to National Realty Week were being placed around Everett and vicinity. Making arrangements for the week were Roy Burklund, Gordon Gaston, Helen France and Ray Schneider.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)

Rose Tilley was the head waitress at the Ramada Everett Pacific Hotel. She saw her primary job of caring for the head tables of senators, sport notables and international business figures as one of friend, confidante and relaxer of the ill at ease. She recalled the time the head chef failed to show and she had to cook breakfast for 60 people.

A buffer zone restricting development along five streams in the city was established by the Marysville City Council. The protection applied to Quil Ceda, Allen and Munson creeks and two unnamed tributaries to Ebey Slough.
