EVERETT — Snohomish County wants to prepare for an increase in elderly residents as baby boomers approach their golden years.

The county is asking residents of all ages to complete the Active Living Community Survey. To take the survey, go to www.snoco.org and search for “long term care.” The county needs the results by June 30.

The county’s Long Term Care and Aging Division and its Council on Aging Advisory Committee plan to use the results to address the needs of future generations.

The U.S. Census Bureau considers anyone born between 1946 and 1964 a baby boomer. The oldest boomers will turn 65 in 2011.

For more information on the survey, contact Susan Starrfield at 425-388-7218 or s.starrfield@snoco.org.
