Arlington: Positions filled on city boards
The Arlington City Council recently named new or continuing members to two boards. Charles Van Pelt plans to serve on the Library Board and Margaret Lahey is set to serve on the Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission. AJ Chase is set to serve another three-year term on the Airport Commission, Barbara Tolbert plans to serve another two-year term on the Hotel/Motel Tax Committee, and Craig Chase, Aaron MacDonald and Jim Thompson will serve six-year terms on the Planning Commission.
Use rubber stamps on your craft projects
Carol Wilson plans to teach a class on using rubber stamps to make greeting cards and decorate scrapbooks and do other projects. The city recreation department class is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and June 30 at Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.

Camano Island: Learn about shellfish
The WSU Beach Watchers of Camano Island group has scheduled a program about shellfish set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive. Bill Dewey of Taylor Shellfish Farms plans to talk about growing and harvesting saltwater shellfish in the inland waters of Western Washington.

Darrington: Help install cemetery sign
The long winter took its toll on the sign at the Darrington Cemetery, and a new marker is scheduled to be mounted as part of the Memorial Day services set for 1:30 Monday at the cemetery on Highway 530.
Volunteers who put together the 8-foot-long sign included John Wilson, Jim Greenizer, Kelly Rankin, Jeff Griffith, Dan Rankin, Ray Franke, Laurence Larsen and Larry Body.
Open air market kicks off third season
Darrington’s Open Air Market, featuring arts, crafts, produce, plants and flowers, is set to begin its third season with an opening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday along Highway 530 in downtown Darrington.

Marysville: New health fest is coming
Marysville’s first-ever Healthy Communities Challenge Day, a collaboration of the city and Snohomish County’s Get Movin’ program, is planned for June 6.
Healthy Communities Challenge Day is scheduled for 1 to 7 p.m. at Allen Creek Elementary School, 6505 60th Drive NE.
Get Movin’, the annual summer program aimed at motivating families to adopt active lifestyles, will run 1 to 3 p.m. at Marysville-North County YMCA, 6420 60th Drive NE.
