SnoCo makes a play to keep Boeing, ‘save’ Wash. aerospace

Snohomish County isn’t giving up its largest employer without a fight.

County executive Aaron Reardon and the Aerospace Futures Alliance will host a “Saving Washington Aerospace” event on Aug. 3.

The conference will be held just weeks after the Boeing Co. announced it plans to buy Vought’s 787 operations in South Carolina, fueling speculation the company will locate a second Dreamliner final assembly line there. Boeing says it hasn’t made a decision on the second line yet.

Speakers at the event include Congressman Norm Dicks, Machinists’ president Tom Wroblewski and Advanced Technology Services’ Michael Zubovic.

The event will be held at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
