50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Snohomish County Pioneers had a picnic at Legion Memorial Park. Hazel Marshall was in charge of the program and games with Jessie Lind in charge of prizes. Gar Kirk made the coffee and Commissioner C. Arvid Johnson provided a sound system for announcing. Dancing was enjoyed with music provided by Andrew Lind.
Otis M. Ramstad, vice president of Tyee Mortgage Co., was a member of the 1959 class of the School of Mortgage Banking, sponsored by the Mortgage Bankers Assn. of America.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Before it was on with the new, it was off with the old. The canvas roof on Everett’s Forest Park pool suffered a 30-foot tear during a windstorm last Thanksgiving. The roof, which was designed to be removed during the summer months, over the years became more or less permanent because it was so difficult to remove. The old roof came off yesterday and a truly permanent wooden roof was planned.
