LYNNWOOD — Two men suspected of stealing video camcorders from the mall at Alderwood triggered a brief chase by Lynnwood Police on Saturday afternoon along Alderwood Mall Boulevard.

A police officer saw two men leaving the store about 3:10 p.m., said Shannon Sessions, a Lynnwood police spokeswoman.

The officer gave a description of the men as they got into their car, which also had a female passenger.

After a short pursuit by police, all three people ran from the car, Sessions said. Police were able to quickly apprehend the woman and one of the men.

The second man escaped into a nearby, heavily wooded area. Two tracking dogs were used to help find the man, who had climbed into a tree.

All three were booked into the Snohomish County Jail, she said, one of the men for investigation of attempting to elude police and second-degree theft, the other man for investigation of second degree theft and the woman on an unrelated warrant, Sessions said.

All three are in their 20s and from the Everett area, she said.
