OAK HARBOR — Inattentive driving may have caused the Wednesday morning crash that sent two people to the hospital.

The collision occurred just after 10 a.m. on northbound Highway 20 at Jones Road, according to a Washington State Patrol press release.

The driver of a Ford Taurus, a 25-year-old Oak Harbor man, stopped and was waiting to turn left into a driveway, when a northbound Kia Spectra struck his vehicle. The Kia’s driver, a 27-year-old Oak Harbor woman, failed to stop, the patrol said.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals. Their condition was not immediately known.

Investigators believe inattention was to blame for the crash, according to the patrol. They don’t believe alcohol or drugs was a factor.
