Airbus snags A330F orders, plans nearly 500 deliveries in ‘09

Airbus said today that it has won an order for two of its A330 Freighters from MNG Airlines, a Turkish cargo company. MNG had ordered two A330 cargo planes in 2007.
“We are pleased to add to our previous order for the A330-200F, so we can start implementing our growth strategy when the worldwide freighter market recovers from the recession,” said Mehmet Nazif Günal, founder and Chairman of MNG Companies Group, in a statement.
Also today, Airbus’ Chief Operating Officer Fabrice Bregier predicts that the European jet maker will deliver nearly 500 aircraft this year, according to this Dow Jones report.
“There is no reason to think that it will be necessary to slow down production rates. But we have to be vigilant,” he said
