Learn how to ‘Put your garden to bed’

Night, night, garden: The Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens will host a free “Putting Your Garden to Bed“ class with Wink Cushman at 10 a.m. Oct. 24 at Legion Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett.
Meet at the blue entrance columns. Bring your own gardening gloves and drinking water if you need it.

Fall home show: The 11th annual Seattle Home Show 2, featuring 500 displays of home and garden products, plus model homes, will be Oct. 22 to 25 at Qwest Field Event Center, 1000 Occidental Ave. S., Seattle, between Safeco Field and Qwest Field.
This year’s show, featuring a “Get Your Green On” theme, will also showcase landscape displays, arts and crafts, wine tasting and free “Meet the Experts” seminars and cooking demonstrations by local chefs.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Oct. 24 when the show will stay open until 8:30 p.m.
Admission is $9 for adults, $6 for age 60 and older, $3 for age 7 to 15, and free for age 6 and younger.

Electronic tickets include free parking at Qwest Field Event Center parking garage, the Qwest Field north lot and Safeco Field parking garage, plus speedier admission to the show, thanks to electronic scanning.
Shuttle service will not be offered this year. If you have four or more people in your vehicle, parking is free in designated areas.
