BOTHELL — Bothell tight end Kevin Knapp had just two catches, but they were big ones.
Knapp hauled in a 9-yard touchdown reception, and later caught a 54-yard score. Both passes were from quarterback Mitchell Muller as the Bothell Cougars rolled Issaquah 30-9 in a 4A quarterfinal game Friday at Pop Keeney Stadium.
Bothell (11-0) will play the winner of today’s Skyline-Curtis contest in the semifinals. Bothell defeated Skyline — the defending 4A state champion — in late October in a Kingco game 25-20. Curtis is undefeated at 10-0 entering today’s contest against Skyline (9-2).
Muller was 13-for-20 passing with 219 yards and two touchdowns. The big passing numbers were a result of starting running back Luke Proulx being knocked out of the game in the second half with a concussion. Bothell finished the game with 173 rushing yards.
Issaquah was held to just 62 yards rushing, as the Cougars contained star running back Grant Gellatly. Issaquah was forced to take to the air, where it was 17-for-35 passing for 157 yards and one interception.
