Students join Sultan City Council as representatives

Sultan High School seniors Nic Gregg and Stephanie Morrill were recently named student representatives on the Sultan City Council. Morrill is the primary representative and Gregg is the alternate representative.

During regular and special council meetings, student representatives provide input on the needs, interests, problems and views of Sultan’s young people. The appointment as student representative expires on June 30.

“We are very fortunate to have two well qualified young people appointed to fill the position of student representative,” said Mayor Caroline Eslick.

In her application, Morrill wrote she is interested in serving as a student representative because she cares about the school and its relationship with the Sultan community. Gregg wrote he is interested in serving because there is a need to have a strong connection between the city council and the youth of the valley.

The next student representatives will be selected in May to serve for the 2010-11 school year. For more information on the student representatives, contact Donna Murphy at 360-793-2231.
