Must recipients stand in the cold?

Regarding the Saturday article, “Gift charity draws Snohomish County families in need”: What a terrible thing for the Christmas House to do — to make people wait outside for hours and hours on the coldest night of the year.
These folks are human beings and deserving of dignity. There must be a better way to give them presents.
How do other charities do it?
Some changes need to be made by this organization. I am sure that everybody who read that article was as horrified as I am.
Please consider a better system and do not make these folks suffer more than they already do.
