LAN orders 30 Airbus A320s

Latin America’s LAN Airlines has placed a firm order for 30 Airbus single-aisle A320 aircraft, the companies said today.
The request raises the number of Airbus jets on order by LAN Airlines to over 100. The order is valued at nearly $2 billion at list prices.
“LAN has been a valued Airbus customer since 1998,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers, in a statement. “This repeat order for the eco-efficient A320 Family is a strong vote of confidence and we are convinced that our benchmark aircraft will further advance LAN’s solid position in the South American market.”
LAN currently serves over 65 destinations around the world, including North America, Europe and the South Pacific.
