Arlington: City sponsors ‘Nunsense’ performance
The musical comedy “Nunsense” is scheduled to be presented by Monroe’s Last Leaf Productions at 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School.
The Arlington Arts Council and the city’s recreation department are sponsors of the performance.
The long-running, off-Broadway musical comedy hit by Dan Groggin features the Little Sisters of Hoboken who are desperate to raise money with a talent show that includes vaudeville-inspired songs and ribald, but not raunchy, humor.

Marysville: Valentine’s dance is set for dads, daughters
Registration begins Monday for the city of Marysville’s annual father-daughter Valentine’s dances.
The dances are scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 6 and Feb. 20 at the Cedarcrest Middle School Cafeteria, 6400 88th St. NE.
Fathers and daughters of all ages are invited. Registration is required and costs $15 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Registration is available at the Parks and Recreation Office at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road.

Silvana: Bingo night scheduled for Sunday at Viking Hall
Several organizations in the Silvana area host a monthly bingo night on the second Sunday of every month at Viking Hall.
This month’s game night starts at 6 p.m. Sunday at the hall, 1331 Pioneer Highway.
Hot dogs, popcorn and snacks will be available for sale.

Stanwood: Former newspaper publisher to speak
Dave Pinkham, former publisher and editor of the Stanwood-Camano News, is scheduled to talk about the role of a community newspaper. Among other topics, he plans to talk about the relationship between readers and weekly newspapers.
The public is welcome to bring comments and questions.
Presented by the Camano Island Democrats, the free presentation is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multi-Purpose Building, 141 N. East Camano Drive.

Free bassoon recital features Stanwood High grad
Graham Logen, a senior at Pacific Lutheran University, plans to present a bassoon recital at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stanwood United Methodist Church, 27128 102nd Drive NW.
Logen, a 2006 graduate of Stanwood High School and the son of Dan and Pat Logen, is a music major focusing on performance.
