Everett: Everett Gospel Mission rezone

The public can comment on a possible change to the city’s comprehensive plan map so that the Everett Gospel Mission can use a single-family home at 2222 52nd St. SE as an office for its nearby mission.

The hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, eighth floor, Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave.

The applicant has indicated a willingness to limit the use of the building to office work and to not change the exterior appearance of the home.

Mill Creek: Fire district forms honor guard

A recently formed Snohomish County Fire District 7 Honor Guard participates in community events.

Firefighters from the district worked for almost two years to form the Honor Guard, spokeswoman Autumn Waite said. The Honor Guard was created, following a long-standing tradition, to honor fallen service members, but also to participate in celebrations and community events.

The Honor Guard is a volunteer organization, and members practice and present on their own time, Waite said. Last year, for example, members presented at Cascade and Jackson High School homecoming football games. They are excited to take part in more community celebrations this year.

If you are interested in having the Honor Guard at a community event, contact Capt. Evan Adolf at 360-282-3960 or eadolf@firedistrict7.com.
