Arlington: Free play for kids offers lesson

“The Search for Bigfoot,” an ecological mystery by Last Leaf productions of Monroe, is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington.

The free play is offered as a spring break activity by the city of Arlington and the Arlington Library. This original production shows kids how to reduce the production of greenhouse gasses.

Camano Island: Learn about farming

For people who have thought about starting a small farm, but weren’t sure how to begin, a presentation tonight might help.

Local farmer Jon Stevens will discuss how to create and care for sustainable soil on Camano Island, how to diversify crops and how small farms help build community. The free talk starts at 7 tonight at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive, Camano Island.

Senior resource fair for Stanwood, Camano residents planned

The first of what is hoped to be an annual resource fair for people 55 and older in the Stanwood-Camano Island area is set for 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Senior and Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.

Barry Meyers, an attorney specializing in elder law, plans to speak. Admission is free and includes lunch and a welcome bag. More than 45 representatives from public and nonprofit agencies will attend.

Granite Falls: Little League jamboree set

Granite Falls Little League plans a season opening jamboree for Saturday.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with a parade that starts in the parking lot across from the Granite Falls Senior Center at 302 S. Granite Ave. and goes to Mountain Way Elementary School, 702 N. Granite Ave., where a silent auction, games and food are planned.

Horse day camps for kids coming up

Horse day camps for spring break are planned at Horse Country Farm. The one-week camps begin Monday and April 5 at the farm, 8507 Highway 92, Granite Falls.

One camp, for beginning riders in grades two through nine, includes riding, grooming, trail rides, games on horseback and a horse show for $299.

The other camp, for intermediate riders in grades five through nine, includes trail rides, games and more for $95.

Marysville: Benefit for Burn Foundation

A pancake breakfast to benefit the Northwest Burn Foundation is planned for next month.

The event is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 24 at ServPro’s new location, 13421 39th Ave. NE, Marysville.
