Arlington: Celebrate Arbor Day Saturday
The city of Arlington plans to celebrate Arbor Day beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Legion Park, 114 Olympic Ave.
Free tree seedlings will be give away and the Arlington Garden Club plans to offer its plant sale just down the street in the plaza next to City Hall.
Volunteers then are needed for a tree-planting effort at Portage Creek.

Tour Trafton Elementary School
Arlington School District is considering the closure of the historic Trafton Elementary School on the east side of the district. The school district is making the school available for tours to the public.
The school is to be open from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 2.

Camano Island: Lean about bird nests
Learn the ways birds make nests and discover interesting facts about nest construction and placement at 7 tonight, at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 East Camano Drive.
Idie Ulsh, who has photographed the nests of more than 30 species, plans to speak and show slides.
