Arlington: Village Services fundraiser
Village Community Services’ annual Taste of Decadence fundraiser is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the Stillaguamish Senior Center banquet hall, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.

Memorial Day volunteers needed
Arlington American Legion Post 76 is looking for volunteers to help Boy Scouts with flags before and after the Memorial Day ceremony on Monday.

Cruisin’ for a Cure
The Pink Ladies and the T-Birds, teams participating in the Arlington Relay for Life, are offering a car and motorcycle show Sunday to benefit the American Cancer Society at Weston High School, 4407 172nd St. NE.
The Arlington schools transportation department relay team has scheduled a “Dunk your Driver” dunk tank fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
All car enthusiasts are welcome at the show. Free for spectators; $20 per vehicle for participants.

Darrington: Help the Forest Service
Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest needs volunteers to teach visitors about the natural and historic beauty of the Monte Cristo area this summer.
Volunteer stewards assist in taking care of cabins, camp areas, information boards, registration boxes and trails.
Training to be a steward is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon June 5 at the Verlot Service Center.

High school to present play
The Darrington High School Drama Club presents “The Diviners” by Jim Leonard at 7 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the school, 1085 Fir St.
The play takes place in the mythical town of Zion, a place reminiscent of Darrington.

Stanwood: Book-a-palooza Bash tonight
Stanwood Library offers its Book-a-palooza Bash from 7 to 8 tonight at the library, 9701 271st St. NW.
The evening features a puppet show and treats. Each child can pick up their very own picture book courtesy of The Foundation for Early Learning.

Whidbey Island: Ride for the forest
More than 75 business owners and organizations have joined Whidbey Camano Land Trust’s effort to preserve Whidbey Island’s 664-acre former Trillium property. The Land Trust is leading the drive to raise $4.2 million by June 10 to buy the island’s largest remaining contiguous forest.
M Bar C Ranch plans a fundraising trail ride Sunday. Mountain bikers and hikers also are invited to the event, which will include a ranch-style lunch.
