Nuts and Bolts: July brings another round of events for garden lovers

Here comes July, yet another busy month of garden tours and events to keep you inspired.
That includes the Edmonds in Bloom: Rhythm and Blooms Garden Tour, an annual self-guided tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 18 at six private gardens.
Tickets are $15 at www.edmondsinbloom.com; at the Frances Anderson Center, Bountiful Home and Garden Gear, all in Edmonds; Emery’s Garden and Wight’s Home &Garden, both in Lynnwood; and at Sky Nursery in Shoreline.

Here are a few more events to get you out and about in July:
The Sequim Lavender Festival will be July 16 to 18 on the Olympic Peninsula.
Admission is $15 adults, but you can also attend free events, including a street fair and quilt show, plus culinary demonstrations and art studio tours.

If you don’t want to travel quite so far for lavender, attend the Lavender Hills Farm Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 10, 7508 108th St. NE, Marysville.
Enjoy U-cut lavender, live music, local arts and craft booths, lavender ice cream, lavender lemonade and lavender apple cider.

Finally, don’t miss the Snohomish Garden Club’s 2010 garden tour from noon to 5 p.m. July 25 at nine local gardens.
Tickets for the 26th annual tour are $12 at Joyworks, Kusler’s Pharmacy, McDaniel’s Do-It Center, McAuliffe’s Valley Nursery, Machias Nursery and Annie’s on First, all in Snohomish; plus Sunnyside Nursery of Marysville, Emery’s Garden of Lynnwood, My Garden Nursery of Bothell and Molbak’s of Woodinville.
