EVERETT — Behind the nine kills of Maddie Welsh and Carolyn Stransky’s 16 assists and eight kills, Shorewood (2-0 overall) defeated Mariner in straight sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 to earn the non-conference victory. A couple of Nicoles, Nicole Leach (11 kills, two blocks) and Nicole Hayes (19 digs), led Mariner (0-3).
