Everett: Historical Commission meeting

Everett’s Historical Commission plans to look at its process for reviewing projects in the city’s historical zones at its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 2930 Wetmore Ave., 8th floor hearing room.

The city has three historic overlay zones that provide more stringent design guidelines and standards.

Multi-family projects and demolition of homes in these areas have to first be reviewed by the commission. The commission wants to look at that process to make sure its operating as effectively as possible.

Comments sought on Everett Transit changes

Everett Transit wants to make service changes in November.

Officials want input at a public meeting set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave.

Mountlake Terrace: Last day for market

The city’s farmers market will operate from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, its last day of the season. The market is located along 58th Avenue W. between the corner of 232nd St. SW and the entrance to the city’s municipal campus.

Marysville: School board to meet

The Marysville School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday as the district continues searching for two new board members.

The board’s recruitment steering committee will screen applications, whittling down a list of at least six people to about four top candidates. The meeting will take place in the school’s board room, 4220 80th St. NE, Marysville.

The board may appoint new members in October, filling spots vacated in July by Michael Kundu and Sherri Crenshaw.

Snohomish: Carnegie Building meeting

The public is invited to discuss the design of the Carnegie Building at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at 105 Cedar Ave.

Restoration work is about to begin on the building. The meeting is intended to inform people about this project.

Applicants sought for parks board vacancy

People interested in becoming part of the Parks and Recreation board must send their applications to the city clerk by 4 p.m. Oct. 22.

Those interested in the unpaid position can fill out an application at City Hall, 116 Union Ave., or download one at www.ci.snohomish.wa.us. The term expires Sept. 7, 2012, and applicants must live in the city’s urban growth area.

Monroe: Run &Walk for the Arts Saturday

The Monroe High School Performing Arts Boosters will celebrate their second annual 5k Run &Walk for the Arts at 9 a.m., Saturday in Lake Tye Park, 14964 Fryelands Blvd.

Runners and walkers will enjoy performances from different music groups. People can register on-site at 8 a.m. but runners can register early or fill out the application beforehand by downloading it at www.RunfortheArts.org. Runners and walkers are divided into five age categories. Registration is $25 per person.

Edmonds: Forum on immigration Saturday

Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church is hosting a forum on immigration. The event is planned from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 8109 224 St. SW in Edmonds. A screening of the documentary film “9500 Liberty” is scheduled along with a panel discussion.
