Published 9:58 pm Thursday, October 7, 2010

For anyone who likes spending time on a farm, or for families seeking an educational outdoors adventure — as well as for everyone else — Saturday is an ideal time, and Snohomish County’s Sky Valley Farm Festival the ideal place, to do so.

Visitors will find a cattle ranch tour, wagon and horse rides, hands-on activities including lasso-throwing, rope-swing rides, corn mazes, pumpkin picking and more from noon to 5 p.m. at three farms along the Lower Fern Bluff Road off U.S. 2 between Sultan and Monroe,

Demonstrations will include cow-milking and cooking classes involving farm products.

The three participating farms are Rivers End Ranch, Groeneveld Dairy Farm and Stocking’s Garden and Nursery.

Admission to the festival itself is free, but some activities, such as the corn maze at Stocking’s Garden and Nursery, require small fees.
