Arlington: Golden Eagles help schools
Arlington School District’s senior citizen volunteers are eligible for membership in the Golden Eagles program.
Arlington residents age 65 and older who volunteer in the schools can join the club.
Golden Eagles receive a card that’s g
ood for free admission to all athletic events and free or reduced admission to other events in Arlington’s public schools.

Genealogical society to present program
The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society has scheduled Jean Roth, director of education at the Seattle Genealogical Society, to talk about “Postcards for Family Historians” at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the society library, 135 N. Olympic Ave.

Marysville: Recycle electronics at event
Residents can bring used electronics for recycling to Pacific Power Batteries in Marysville on March 12.
The event is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 720 Cedar Ave.
Computers, monitors, laptops, cell phones and TVs can be dropped off for free at the event. A small recycling fee may apply for other electronics.

Snohomish County: Plant sale scheduled
Yes, people in Darrington might still have snow on the ground, but spring is coming and that means planting time.
The Snohomish County Conservation District offers native plants for sale from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. All sales are by check or cash only.

Stanwood: Submit scholarship applications soon
The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation and other organizations are offering more than 100 scholarships to the class of 2011.
Any student who lives within the Stanwood-Camano School District boundaries, including home-schooled students and those who attend private schools, are eligible.
