Everett: Help clean up Narbeck Wetlands
An early Earth Day work party focuses on tidying up Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary near Paine Field on April 16.
Jobs to tackle include removing invasive plants, trimming alders and cleaning a picnic area.
The park is at 6920 Seaway Boulevard, Everett. The work party is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monroe: Come get your U.S. passport
The city wants people to know it can help them get passports. That is why it’s hosting “Passport Day in the USA 2011” Saturday at City Hall.
The city will provide information and accept passport applications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at City Hall at 806 W. Main St.
The only requirement is a copy of a birth certificate or old passport, checkbook or money order, and parents must be present for applicants 16 years old and younger. The city can take photos on site.
It takes from four to six weeks to receive a passport after application.

Oak Harbor: Learn about Dugualla Bay
Whidbey Camano Land Trust has scheduled an open house Thursday in Oak Harbor to share information about restoring chinook salmon habitat at Dugualla Bay.
The Land Trust has a conservation easement on a lagoon in the Dugualla Heights community and 39 acres of former marsh on the south shore of Dugualla Bay.
Displays and a presentation are planned during the open house, which is set for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, in Oak Room 306, Skagit Valley College, 1900 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor.
Snohomish: Free tire recycling on April 23
Get rid of old tires at no charge at a Snohomish County-sponsored event April 23.
It’s scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cathcart Way Recycling and Transfer Station, 8915 Cathcart Way in Snohomish.
People can drop off up to 20 regular-size tires for light trucks, cars or motorcycles, per household.
Proof of residency such as a driver’s license or utility bill is needed. No tractor, large truck, oversized tires or tires on rims will be accepted. Tires must be reasonably clean.
The event is sponsored by Snohomish County Solid Waste Division with a grant from the state Department of Ecology.
