MONROE — Did you know that one of your local firefighters is an amateur mixed martial arts fighter?
Curtis Greiner, a paramedic and firefighter with Snohomish County Fire District 3 in Monroe, won his first fight this past weekend at Fight Night “Round XIV” Combat at the Cabaret at Swinomish Casino near Anacortes.
I’m planning to chat with him later this week about his training. The fire crews at Monroe were pretty stoked last week to go cheer him on.
One of his bosses joked that with how much tickets cost, they’d be pretty mad if Greiner got knocked out in the first round.
That didn’t quite happen, I’d guess, based on his win.
Northwest FightScene Magazine documented Greiner’s fight on their site. You can check out the pictures here. Scroll down to the “Bout 1 – Amateur 170 lbs” category.
