Glacier Peak strong at Stanford Invitational

The Glacier Peak girls cross country team went up against some of the best cross country teams in the nation in the seeded race at the Stanford Invitational over the weekend and fared well. Behind the running of Amy-Eloise Neale and Katie Bianchini, the Grizzlies took second place to San Diego’s La Costa Canyon with a score of 93 points.

Neale cruised to a victory in a time of 17 minutes, 9 seconds with Bianchini taking second in a time of 17:37. Marlee Rothschild, Megan Davis and Marren Haneberg all finished in the top 44 to round out the Glacier Peak top-five finishers.

All five runners finished with personal bests.

Led by Michael Matwichuk, the boys finished 11th in the Division 3 race with a score of 372.
