GOLD BAR — Two people escaped a pickup that rolled over into a ditch and burst into flames on U.S. 2 near Gold Bar early Sunday morning.
The driver, a 41-year-old Gold Bar woman, was taken to Valley General Hospital in Monroe.
Her passenger, a 38-year-old Gold Bar man, was released at the scene after refusing to be transported to the hospital, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
Troopers said the pickup was traveling eastbound on U.S. 2. The driver lost control and the vehicle struck a guardrail, which punctured the gas tank. The pickup rolled over and came to rest in a ditch before catching fire.
Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
