Man injured in crash involving logging truck on Whidbey Island

FREELAND — A crash between a logging truck and a Ford Taurus sent one man to the hospital Wednesday.
The crash happened about 6 a.m. on Highway 525 near Scott Road on Whidbey Island.
A Clinton man, 20, was southbound on the highway when a log truck reportedly pulled out in front of him, according to the Washington State Patrol. The man was unable to stop and crashed into the back of the truck.
He was taken by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The truck driver, 67, also of Clinton, was not injured.
Troopers closed down the highway to investigate the crash.
