Wash. loses to Arizona in game two of softball tourney

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Arizona defeated Washington 7-1 in the Mill-Creek based team’s second game of the majors level 2012 Little League Softball Western Regional on Sunday.
For the second game in a row Washington was held to two hits.
Starting pitcher Haley Cottingham pitched two innings allowing five runs — three earned — on seven hits for Washington.
Cottingham batted 1-for-3 in the contest, and drove in leadoff hitter Kristina Day in the third inning for Washington’s lone run.
Washington, which is being represented by the Mill Creek All-Stars, next plays Hawaii at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
