Buyer’s remorse

Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty Wednesday to spending $750,000 in campaign funds on a host of luxury merchandise, including a $43,000 Rolex (Page A3).

Jackson wept profusely and expressed sorrow for the misuse of funds — and, we can only assume, for the fact that now he has no shot at scoring a pair of one of those cool Google glasses.

Office Office: Office Depot has agreed to buy rival OfficeMax and merge the two office-supply companies into a single entity.

The deal shocked and confused America, which had assumed all along that Office Depot and OfficeMax already were the same company.

A corker of a tower: An Edmonds couple built a 7-foot-tall model of the Eiffel Tower, using hundreds of wine corks.

With that much wine involved, you’d think that a model of the Leaning Tower of Pisa might have been a more suitable project.
